Reading the sixth sentence from the poem Парус by M. Lermontov

Под ним струя светлей лазури,
Над ним луч солнца золотой…

This is a compound sentence consisting of two independent clauses separated by comma.

First independent clause

Под ним струя светлей лазури,

О ком или о чём говорится в предложении? О струе.
струя - подлежащее (имя существительное, женский род, именительный падеж, ед. число).
Who or what is the sentence talking about? About the stream.
stream is the subject (noun, feminine in Russian, nominative case, singular).

Example:

Струя какова? Струя светлей лазури.
светлей лазури (сказуемое, сравнительная степень прилагательного "светлый" и существительное "лазурь" в родительном падеже).

светлей лазури (predicate, comparative degree of the adjective "светлый" and the noun "лазурь" in genitive case), translates to “lighter than azure” in English. It could also be said in Russian, “светлее, чем лазурь”, which would literally be “lighter that azure” with the word “лазурь” in accusative case with the preposition “чем” (“than” in this case.)

• светлей (adjective, comparative degree, nominative case, singular, translates to “lighter”; basic adjective form - “светлая”)

• лазури (noun, feminine in Russian, genitive case, singular, translates to “than azure”; in nominative case - “лазурь”).

Под ним (обстоятельство места, предлог "под" + местоимение "ним" в творительном падеже)

Под ним (circumstantial modifier of place, preposition "под" + pronoun "ним" in instrumental case), translates to “underneath it” in English. It in this case is the Sail mentioned in the previous sentences.

Луч каков? Луч солнца золотой.
солнца золотой (сказуемое, существительное "солнце" в родительном падеже + прилагательное "золотой" в именительном падеже, согласованное с подлежащим).

солнца золотой (predicate, noun "солнце" in genitive case + adjective "золотой" in nominative case, agreeing with the subject). Translates to “of the sun, golden” in English. In plain Russian it would sound more like: “золотой луч солнца” (a golden ray of the sun).
